A guide to a perfectly sanitized laundry

A guide to a perfectly sanitized laundry

    The best hygiene

You may think that a regular wash of your laundry in the washing machine is enough to get them clean and free from germs, bacteria and allergens. Truth is, it takes more than that to reach a perfectly sanitized result, especially when garments are particularly dirty. As bacteria and germs are not visible, clothes may often come out looking clean but still hide dirt among fibers.

In order to get the best and safest result, there are a few extra steps you should add to your washing routine.

    Sort clothes out

Separate heavily soiled items from the cleaner ones. For example, put aside all those garments that carry dirt or oil stains and run a separate cycle or pre-treat them to remove all greasy substances. This will prevent the transfer of grime and strong odours to other fabrics.

    Use high temperatures

As simple as it sounds, washing clothes in hot water is one of the best practices to remove all germs and bacteria, as they start fading at high temperatures. Remember to check the label though, as some fabrics may shrink in hot water.

Hoover H-WASH 500 features a specific cycle designed for this purpose: it increases the washing temperature up to 60° C for a prolonged time and extends the rinsing phase at the end. You will only need to select the hygiene cycle option to ensure the best hygiene and care for your laundry

    Keep your washing machine clean

In order to get the best results, your washing machine also needs periodical cleaning. Dirt, germs and bacteria accumulate inside the washer together with detergent leftovers, hard-water deposits and mould around the lid, that could lead to leave residue or bad smells on your laundry.

    Use the dryer

As damp clothes are very likely to become breeding ground for germs, a tumble dryer can be a great ally for your laundry. These machines are designed for removing dampness from clothes and usually feature several drying options in order to cater to different types of fabrics. So put everything in your dryer and get perfect cleaning results for your garments.

Hoover H-DRY 500 features a brand-new drying option that has been specifically designed to refresh garments. The Active Dry cycle removes bad smells, germs, spores and bacteria in a natural way while taking care of your clothes to guarantee the best result in only 20 minutes. Discover more.
